Victoria River

 120 miles southwest of Katherine in Gregory National Park, Northern Territory, Australia

the Victoria River is the longest singularly named permanent river in the Northern Territory

photo taken in the dry (July) season; in the wet season (Nov-March) this river will rise up to 40ft above the current water level

I have seen a 6ft tree stump perched in a tree's branches on the bank of the river 40  ft up in the air left by the flooded river
